5. Carson Wentz, QB
There’s a weird situation going on in Philly. The fan base is divided. Half of the fan base believes Carson Wentz played a great game and didn’t get any help. Then, there’s another half that is weirdly pointing the finger at Wentz blaming him for the loss. Was he perfect? No. There won’t be a quarterback who is. Even the greats miss reads and throw a few inaccurate balls.
But to say Wentz didn’t play a good enough game to win would be foolish. The Eagles receivers had seven drops on Sunday. One was an easy touchdown to Dallas Goedert. Another was the game-winning touchdown to the rookie, JJ Arcega-Whiteside.
At this point, what does Wentz have to do to get his team to rally behind him? For the second week in a row, he put a game-winning pass right in the hands of his receiver and they couldn’t come down with it. The QB1 put on a promising showing as of late, but his team hasn’t really issued much help. Hopefully, his injured wideouts are prepared to help him formulate a comeback.
