Thursday Night Football: Philadelphia Eagles (1 – 2) at Green Bay Packers (3 – 0) (Upset Alert)

Venue and weather: Lambeau Field, Mostly Cloudy, 59°F at kickoff

Prediction: This one’s got the Eagles fanbase all tied up in knots. Just imagine for a second that a team that was supposed to contend for a Super Bowl title got off to a 1-2 start. What’s worse is both of those losses came in succession, and the latter worse than the former.

No, wait. No one has to use their imagination. That’s exactly what has happened. The Eagles aren’t just losing. They’re regressing.

As bad as things were on Sunday Night Football, we allowed ourselves to believe that things would be okay. After all, Carson Wentz rallied his team in the second half, and Philly had a chance to win at the end. They just weren’t able to close the deal.

Seven calendar days later, the Eagles had a chance for redemption, and they’d fail yet again. Seven dropped passes, three turnovers, and three offensive pass interference calls gave way to a crushing defeat at the hands of the Detroit Lions.

Philly was outclassed, and now, after all of that, they travel to historic Lambeau Field for a game versus the Green Bay Packers where they’ll, now, play a familiar role though not one they’ve played yet this season, the role of underdogs.

The Eagles win this one. Why? This team just doesn’t seem to answer the bell until they’re not supposed to do so. Final Score: Eagles 27, Pack 24
