1. Jordan Howard, RB

At this point, almost the entire Eagles fan base is pounding the table for Jordan Howard. This feels like 2017 all over again except for the fans wanted more LeGarrette Blount at that time. Here, the Eagles want the former Chicago Bears running back to get a nice bulk of the carries.

Last week, it felt like the Eagles were going to be more willing to establish the run with Howard. They couldn’t seem to shake the fact that they want their second-round rookie, Miles Sanders to pan out though. While Sanders had a sneaky good game, his fumbling issues were critical to the Eagles’ offensive struggles last week.

We’re not saying the Eagles should ditch Miles Sanders entirely. But the ground and pound method MUST be used against Green Bay. As the Packers have a stingy passing defense, the Eagles should be trying to keep the ball on the ground as Green Bay has been very giving to opposing backfields through the first three weeks.

Not only will the ground game help the Eagles move the ball against the Packers — but it will also balance out Philly’s predictable offense and even keep the clock running. Time of possession will be valuable on Thursday night. The Eagles will want to keep Aaron Rodgers off the field as much as possible. Running the ball and keeping the clock moving should help with that.
