3. Carson Wentz, QB

No. 11 did everything he could last week to win the game — but his receivers failed him. The fans acknowledged it. Doug Pederson mentioned it. And now apparently Carson Wentz was keeping his receivers for an extended time after practice to get some extra work in because he wants to avoid the same situation three games in a row.

Aside from a lousy first-half against the Atlanta Falcons, Carson Wentz has been playing some solid football. Unfortunately, the record or even his stats do not reflect what he’s done entirely thus far. All that needs to go in the past, though.

On Thursday, we want to see Wentz bounce back and lead his team to victory. Two years ago, he put on a highly impressive performance on Thursday Night Football against Carolina on the road and proved to everybody that he is the real deal and so is his team.

This week, he needs to have a repeat performance. Wentz is in the elite conversation, so now is his time to prove it. As the Eagles are doubted for the first time this season ahead of the Packers matchup, it’s time for Wentz to tap into the underdog role and prove he belongs to remain in that elite group of passers around the NFL.
