Philadelphia Eagles: 5 Players that are key to a victory over Packers
5. Brandon Graham, DE
Let’s keep the focus on the defensive line for this week. There is a bad man on the other side of the ball for the Packers. No. 12, Aaron Rodgers is no joke. He’s easily one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and he’s known for picking apart the Eagles’ secondary.
We could say the cornerbacks and safeties matter the most here, but that’s not true. Because if the Eagles defensive line doesn’t even get the least amount of pressure on Rodgers this week, it won’t even matter. Defensive backs can only cover their assignments for so long.
If Rodgers is standing comfortably in the pocket without any pressure, then get ready for an offensive shootout. Brandon Graham, like Fletcher Cox, needs to step his game up. Graham has never really been a sack-master for the Birds, but he’s known for getting to the quarterback and disrupting the backfield and making things uncomfortable for the opposition.
He hasn’t done that this season. This would be a great week to change that narrative. Graham got paid handsomely in the offseason but so far he’s not living up to his contract. Primetime games such as Thursday is what he was brought back for. The Eagles need the Super Bowl hero to step up and help save the season when they need him the most.
