No Philadelphia Eagles fan will ever forget about the time when Jordan Howard walked into Lambeau Field and did something no other running back has done in the Super Bowl era.

Everyone who’s been clamoring for the Philadelphia Eagles to give the ball to Jordan Howard more is beating on their chests this morning. Most of us would have been satisfied had the Eagles fed him by giving him 20 or more carries in at least one of those games Philly lost, but Doug Pederson’s system doesn’t work that way.

Instead, it took four games for Howard to exceed 20 carries (and 15 of them came in Week 4 on Thursday Night Football. Be that as it may, no ‘Birds’ fan will ever forget the time Philly waltzed into Lambeau Field in a rare must-win game in September and walked out with a win over the Green Bay Packers that tugged on every single one of the emotions.

Howard finished with 15 carries for 87 yards and two rushing touchdowns. He paid dividends in the passing game as well as Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz found him three times through the air for an additional 28 yards and one receiving touchdown.

Wait. Wasn’t there a narrative that this guy wouldn’t pay any dividends in the passing game?

James Palmer, a national reporter for the NFL Network, tweeted on Friday that this was the first time in the Super Bowl era that a visiting player walked into Lambeau Field and tallied two rushing touchdowns and a receiving touchdown at historic Lambeau Field.

Philly added one to the win column, and it’s doubtful they’re going to ignore this guy going forward. Next up on the schedule is a home date versus the New York Jets. Look for Howard to be given a few more opportunities in that one.
