Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders finally gets some justice. Well, sort of.

To the die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, the game versus the Detroit Lions must feel like it was three weeks ago. Well, it wasn’t. Sunday, September 29th marks exactly seven days since Lions linebacker Miles Killebrew turned the helmet of Miles Sanders and ripped it off.

There’s a bright side. Like they used to say in the old days, thank God his head wasn’t in it.

Here’s a little from Sanders, courtesy of Tim McManus, ESPN.com and Philadelphia Eagles reporter for NFL Nation.

If you aren’t familiar with McManus’ work, he also contributes to ESPN’s NFL Live, SportsCenter, ESPN Radio, and ESPN The Magazine. You could say he’s a pretty good source for some Eagles info.

The Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers on a short week. That one came on Thursday Night Football. Sure, there may not have been a flag thrown, and as mentioned earlier, Philly’s played in and won a game since then, but this is the NFL people.

The league offices very rarely miss the opportunity to flex their muscles. They’ll perform an investigation even if the police haven’t. They’ll enforce discipline if no charges have been filed, and if they really get ticked off, they’ll kick you out of the league for a couple of games.

Naturally, all of that should be taken as a joke, but in the bigger picture, you have to be thankful Sanders wasn’t hurt. Unfortunately, he won’t be getting any of the $10,527 the league slapped Killebrew with. Philly’s got a little time to rest up before hosting the New York Jets.

After four regular-season games that can only be described as a roller coaster, it’s going to be interesting to see how the Eagles perform in that one.
