1. Sam Darnold, quarterback

As of the time of this writing, there’s still been no definitive answer on whether or not Sam Darnold will play in Week 5. He’s been doing everything he can to get back on the playing field after he was diagnosed with mononucleosis almost midway through September.

We haven’t seen him do anything that’s football-related since September 12th. He’s to undergo more tests to determine what his eligibility will be when the Jets travel to meet the Eagles on October 6th at Lincoln Financial Field, but even if he can go, you have to wonder how effective he’ll be. If he can’t go, Luke Falk figures to get the start.

On the season, Falk has completed 32 of his 47 attempts for 296 yards, and he’s thrown an interception.

2. Darryl Roberts, cornerback

Over the course of what’s been a forgettable and disappointing 0-3 start for the Jets, cornerback Darryl Roberts has been one of the few bright spots on what is truly a bad football team. We throw the phrase ‘he does everything for this team’ around frequently, but Roberts does do a lot.

After their first three games, Roberts leads the team in total tackles with 21 (18 were solo), and he’s among four Jets who have registered an interception in this young NFL season.
