2. Here’s what Adam Gase and Darnold had to say.

Well, listening to Jets head coach Adam Gase and Sam Darnold isn’t going to do much for your confidence in Darnold playing if that’s the result that you’re hoping for. Then again, listening to Gase or Darnold talk about anything won’t give you a whole lot of confidence about anything.

They definitely don’t have a future in counseling. They’re somewhere between very professional and extremely boring. It’s like listening to Bill Belichick. You know, without the six Super Bowls. Gase was asked about Darnold’s condition. Here was his answer.

"Nobody should hit him anyway, but, right now, what they’re telling us is he can’t have any contact.. If we were playing a game tomorrow or Wednesday, he wouldn’t be able to play because he hasn’t been cleared for contact… It’s not an ideal situation."

Darnold had this to say about himself.

"I’ve been doing everything I can (do). I’ve been exercising as much as I can… I’ll kinda let the specifics come out whenever they do… For me, it’s just about doing what the doctors say. It’s out of my control. My spleen, at this point, is gonna do what it’s gonna do. Right now, I’m just focused on, if they said I can get some cardio in (and) getting in as much cardio in as I can… (I’m) making sure that I’m in shape so that if I were to go in there and play a game, I can hold up."

Ladies and gentlemen, that doesn’t sound like the prognosis you want to hear if you’re a Jets fan. To be honest, at this point, does anyone think that it’s a good idea to put him in a position where he’s risking something worse happening?
