While the most important thing is Darnold’s health, as football fans, it’s unfortunate that one of the game’s budding young stars has to have his career put on pause.

Have you been watching the maturation process? It’s been a joy to watch regardless of what your NCAA or NFL affiliation is.

Who can forget Darnold leading the USC Trojans to a victory in the Rose Bowl over the Penn State Nittany Lions in 2017? In a world where it can sometimes be easy to overlook the Jets in what’s truly been a Giants’ city over the last few decades, it was the selection of Darnold that made Jets feel like they had finally gotten one over on the crosstown Giants, and that’s only the beginning of what figures to be an interesting watch for both NFL franchises in New York.
