Philadelphia Eagles roundup: Colin Cowherd prefers Carson Wentz over Dak Prescott
Colin Cowherd prefers Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz over Dak Prescott.
FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd disagrees with his coworker and obvious Dallas Cowboys homer and Philadelphia Eagles hater, Skip Bayless. Cowherd is the host and creator of FS1’s highly popular The Herd with Colin Cowherd, and recently, he took another opportunity to weigh in on one of the most popular topics in all of football. Which one? You should be pretty familiar with this one by now. Would you rather have Carson Wentz or Dak Prescott as your franchise signal-caller?
He can be irritating and wrong at times, but Cowherd hit the nail on the head with this one.
Take a couple of seconds, and check this one out for yourselves.
Well, he hit the nail on the head with that one, didn’t he?
Ladies and gentlemen, Dak Prescott isn’t on Carson Wentz’s level, and he never will be. The argument will always be made that Prescott got off to a faster start, but rarely is it mentioned that the Cowboys quarterback played on a better team at the time and was part of a better situation when he entered the NFL.
The Eagles weren’t in a position to take Wentz for no reason. The team’s roster was in shambles, and despite the fact the Cowboys also had a less-than-stellar season in 2015, they were an easier team to fix than Philly was.
People will argue that Wentz has had injury concerns, or they’ll bring up the fact that Dallas swept Philly in 2018. If that isn’t the argument, you’ll hear something like this. Despite the fact that the Eagles won the Super Bowl at the end of the 2017-18 season, Wentz has yet to play in and win a playoff game.
Prescott is good. He truly is, but to be successful, he needs a lot of things to go right for him. Sure, that can be said about the majority of the quarterbacks in the NFL, but here’s something that can’t be. Guys like Patrick Mahomes, and Aaron Rodgers, and Russell Wilson, and Deshaun Watson are different. They can do things few athletes, regardless of the position they play, can do.
If you don’t know that or can’t see it, you haven’t been paying close enough attention.
