Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jason Peters doesn’t care what anybody has to say about the offense’s performance against the Jets.

The Philadelphia Eagles returned home for Week 5 to host the New York Jets. Coming off of their big win on Thursday Night Football, the Birds were lined up with quite an easy matchup on Sunday. Everybody expected the Eagles to win, and they expected them to win big.

31-6 ended up being the final score, proving everybody right. However, some would go as far as to say the 31-6 win didn’t feel as satisfying as it should. Mainly because the offense looked a bit sluggish after their impressive first drive to start the game off.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson mostly agrees with some of the unsatisfied fans. The play-caller acknowledged the struggles of the offense after the game, showing that he was not very happy with what was put on display against the Jets on Sunday afternoon.

However, offensive tackle Jason Peters sees it in a different light. When asked about the offensive performance on Sunday afternoon, the long-time veteran was quite blunt with his assessment. And frankly, he doesn’t care about what anybody has to say regarding their performance.

“A win is a win”

Standing at his locker in front of reporters, Peters was all business, as always. When asked about the offense’s progress on Sunday, Peters already saw it coming and had a statement pretty much ready to go by the time the question was done being asked.

“I’ve been playing a long time,” Peters stated. “A win is a win; I don’t give a [expletive] what anybody gotta’ say. If we would’ve won by one, we would’ve been more excited about winning by one, than 30 or whatever we won by. A win is a win.”

Peters raises a good point. Just last week, the Eagles barely beat the Packers with a goal-line stand. Yet, barley squeezing out a win felt much better than winning by a 25-point margin, which is the largest victory for the Eagles this season. Clearly, we know the Eagles’ offense can turn it up, when necessary (see last week). But this week, it felt like they were on cruise control. Hopefully, that changes next week against Minnesota.
