10. Carson Wentz, quarterback

Well, you had to see this coming. It’s been said over and over again. It might as well be said one more time just in case you missed it. There isn’t much more Carson Wentz could have done throughout the Eagles’ first five games of 2019’s regular season. He’s had his moments, but if the Eagles had 11 Carson Wentz clones on offense, they’d be 5-0.

That isn’t the point though. The point is this. When the Eagles said goodbye to Nick Foles, this was solely Carson Wentz’s team. He’s the guy. That’s why they took him as the second-overall selection in 2016’s draft.

That’s why the fans and organization stuck by him when the last two seasons ended with an injury. That’s why Eagles fans defend him when anything is said about an errant pass or rumors about his leadership, and yes ladies and gentlemen, that’s why he was given a four-year, $128 million contract extension with $107 million guaranteed that will keep him under contract through the 2024 season.

Yes, Wentz’s season has been MVP worthy, but like Cox and Jenkins and all of the other veterans on the team, it can’t stop there. It can’t end now. His team needs more, and judging by everything we’ve learned about ’11’ to this point, we can say we’ve all learned one thing.

Wentz wouldn’t have it any other way. Buckle up Eagles fans. The best is yet to come.
