There are a ton of backstories as every Philadelphia Eagles fan on Planet Earth prepares for the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6.

There isn’t a Philadelphia Eagles fan that has to be reminded about what Week 6 means in the grand scheme of things. Their favorite football team heads to Minneapolis, Prince’s former home base, to face a team that wears his favorite color, the Minnesota Vikings.

Why is this game different? There are several reasons. One, after a strong showing by the Eagles over the past two weeks (and a Dallas Cowboys two-game losing streak), Philly sits in a two-team tie for the top spot in the NFC East.

Both teams, at minimum, would like for that to remain the case after the NFL’s slate of games for Week 6. For ‘The Birds’, that appears to be a more difficult proposition. They travel to take on one of the stronger teams in the NFC while Dallas, seemingly, gets a game with a lower degree of difficulty, one that pits them against the New York Jets.

Here’s the other thing. Both Philly and Dallas can ill afford a third loss in the NFC. Wins and losses versus conference opponents could loom large later when we begin discussing playoff positioning. Here are five huge storylines to watch.
