Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zach Brown believes his defense will dominate if the Vikings offense has to rely on Kirk Cousins.

This weekend, we will get yet, another rematch of the 2017 NFC Championship between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings. While both teams are different this time around, there are still players involved who might not have been on either of those teams but are still quite familiar with each other in this matchup.

On the Vikings side of the ball, their quarterback Kirk Cousins wasn’t around yet for the 2017 effort. And on the Eagles side of the ball, their linebacker Zach Brown wasn’t in the picture either. Instead, they were both a part of the underperforming Washington Redskins.

Eventually, though, they both left. Cousins, as we know, took a monster deal with the Vikings last offseason. And Brown decided to join the Eagles this past offseason after the Redskins chose to do away with his rather generous contract. Now, the two former teammates will meet once again this week to play against each other, and Brown is hardly worried.

Brown’s not worried about Kirk Cousins

This season, the Vikings haven’t fully established their attack through the air. Therefore, they have been relying heavily on the run with Dalvin Cook. This week offers the most difficult challenge to date for the Vikings’ offense considering the Eagles are one of the most stout rushing defenses in the NFL through six weeks of football.

Linebacker Zach Brown knows that if the Eagles stop the run game early on, the Vikings will have no choice but to throw the ball. And since Kirk Cousins has his weak spots that are clear as day, Brown is hardly worried about the veteran passer, who he once shared a locker room with. As long as the Eagles can stop the run and force some pressure on Cousins, their defense should be in good condition to give Philly a chance to win on the road.
