2. Sidney Jones, CB

Let’s just stay on the topic of the cornerbacks for a moment. So we acknowledged the one side’s struggles, but cut Douglas some slack since others failed to issue him some help. On the other side, Sidney Jones struggled a lot on his own and his mishaps were inexcusable.

Sunday was supposed to be the revenge game for Sidney Jones. The matchup where the former second-round pick finally gets fed up with the ‘bust’ narrative surrounding his name and just puts on a lockdown performance against some of the NFL’s top receivers.

Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. He was the same old Sidney Jones on Sunday. The same old underperforming player, who lost all of his confidence at this point in his fairly young career. Getting beat deep by a quick Stefon Diggs is bad. But getting toasted on a double move in the red zone by Adam Thielen is unaccaptable.

It seems as though Jones has fell out of favor with his coaching staff and was benched at some point during the game. Then, the secondary leader Malcolm Jenkins had an interesting choice of words, which seemed to be aimed towards Jones following the loss. We’re not sure what the Eagles will do with Jones moving forward — but soon enough, they will be moving on if this continues to be the case with the former second-rounder.
