One of the most significant questions over the offseason has been: “Is Nelson Agholor worth his fifth-year option price tage of over $9 million?” Some said yes, because they held out hope that with other wideouts in the picture, he could breakout again like he did in 2017.

Some said no because well, his 2017 season was likely a fluke. At this point, we’re finding out that Agholor’s production does not live up to that price tag. As a former first-round pick, and a nine million dollar man, you would expect Agholor to step up when you need him to.

He has failed to do so. The Eagles continue to hold out hope that Agholor can be more than just a slot receiver, who is a third-option for the quarterback, but it’s failing week after week. Against the Jets, Agholor went deep for a pass and failed to track the ball and reel it in.

Then, against the Vikings, he did the same as Agholor practically quit on the play looking for a flag, rather than looking up for the ball. At some point, the front office will have to realize they need to sign another deep threat, because Agholor just doesn’t cut it.
