Former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens has pretty active on social media recently, especially on the topics of both Doug Pederson and Jason Garrett.

Being outspoken has never been a trait that former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens has had to work to develop. Retirement definitely hasn’t affected that. Over the course of the last few days, he’s gone to his Twitter account to sound off on everything from the inadequacies of the Dallas Cowboys, Jason Garrett, and Jason Witten to his stance on Doug Pederson‘s ‘guarantee’.

Get your popcorn ready. As you might imagine, there were some attention-getting statements.

Just take a moment and look at some of the highlights of the week so far.

Once upon a time, ‘T.O.’ was in danger of landing in a very rare class, former NFL stars who are actually hated in both the city of Philadelphia and in Dallas. Time heals all things though, and much of the venom that was aimed at Owens by the ‘City of Brotherly Love’ has cooled.

Recently, following some comments that were made by Eagles head coach Doug Pederson during a discussion with 94 WIP-FM’s Angelo Cataldi on the station’s Morning Show, eyebrows were raised. Pederson basically guaranteed a win in Arlington when Philly travels to meet the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

He’d later back off of those comments slightly when he spoke to the Philly media later on that same day.

Here’s some of his initial quote on Monday morning.

"We’re going down to Dallas. Our guys are gonna be ready to play, and we’re gonna win that football game… When we do, we’re in first place in the NFC East, we control our own destiny, (and) we’re right where we need to be."

Here’s what followed during his Monday afternoon press conference.

"I never said ‘guarantee a win’… (I showed) confidence in our football team. I promise you Jason Garrett is going to say the same thing with his team, that they are going to win the football game as well. I’m not going to stand up here and go on record and say ‘we’re going to go there and try and win a game’ Man, hopefully we can go win this one.’ It just doesn’t show confidence, and I want to show confidence in our players. We got a ton of confidence in them."

Truthfully, ladies and gentlemen, there isn’t anything wrong with any of that. ‘T.O.’ agrees. Take a look.

The most important thing about all of this is this will fire his team up. Pederson has earned the right to be a little vocal, hasn’t he? There won’t be any issues with his team rallying behind them. We know they will, and if the Eagles go down to Arlington and pull off the victory, no one is going to complain. We won’t have to wait much longer to see what happens.
