Anonymous Eagles player frustrated Howie Roseman didn’t land Jalen Ramsey
An anonymous Philadelphia Eagles player is reportedly upset that Howie Roseman couldn’t land star cornerback, Jalen Ramsey.
The locker room frustrations are apparently coming back once again for the Philadelphia Eagles. Last year when things weren’t going right for the Eagles, there were a lot of negative behind-the-scenes chatter about the direction of which the team was headed.
And who did it all start with? An anonymous player, who decided to reach out to ESPN NFL Insider, Josina Anderson. Last season, Anderson was the first person to report that there were some growing frustrations between a player and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Carson Wentz.
Anderson’s initial reports had something to with complaints about the Eagles quarterback targeting tight end Zach Ertz too much. Later on in the year, that complaint was once again confirmed in the hit piece regarding Wentz and his status within the Eagles locker room.
Now, it seems as though a player who could be the same person is growing frustrated with Eagles’ General Manager, Howie Roseman. As Roseman has been working the phones for the last few weeks in an attempt to acquire star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, he ultimately lost the bidding war. Whatever he seemed to have offered wasn’t enough as the Los Angeles Rams eventually received Ramsey.
Somebody is not happy
The Rams acquired Jalen Ramsey by sending two first-round picks, and an additional fourth-round pick. No final offer from the Eagles was reported, but ESPN’s Chris Mortensen mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the Eagles had an offer of a first and second-round pick on the table for the former Jaguars cornerback. Clearly, Roseman’s initial reported offer wasn’t close enough.
At this point, it doesn’t matter now, though. With Ramsey officially off of the table, the Eagles could just be relying on their cornerback core getting healthy. With Ronald Darby and Jalen Mills back at practice, the Eagles could potentially have them both back on the field this Sunday.
While Mills and Darby’s return wouldn’t equal the value of a Jalen Ramsey-type player, there’s no doubt the Eagles’ coaching staff will probably feel a bit more comfortable with veteran depth available. As for this anonymous player, though, they are not happy. Hopefully, Roseman makes some upgrades soon to help the roster out, or else players are going to begin to grow fed up like many fans are at this point.
