Jordan Poyer, safety

Jordan Poyer was actually taken by the Philadelphia Eagles in the seventh round of 2013’s NFL Draft. He racked up three total tackles over the course of three games as a rookie. On October 19th of 2013, the Eagles released Poyer after he sat out of Weeks 4 and 5 of that season as a healthy scratch.

He’s gone on to tally 352 tackles (a lost art in Philly), 12 interceptions, and a forced fumble over the course of 85 games (with 47 starts). On Sunday, he’ll look for a small measure of revenge versus a team that might have given up on him too early.

Lorenzo Alexander, linebacker

If you’re wondering how this Bills team got so good on defense, look no further than some of the decisions that they’ve made personnel-wise. Since entering the league in 2005, Lorenzo Alexander has found his way onto six different rosters, but he may have found a home in Buffalo.

He’s racked up 29 total tackles (18 were solo and two have resulted in a loss of yardage) and five passes defended in the Bills first six games (that includes two starts). Maybe Philly shouldn’t be planning their attack against him. Maybe they should be asking themselves if he’s worth a trade.

Currently, he’s fifth on the team in tackles, and he’s only started in two of their games.
