One NFL expert echoes a trade proposal that a lot of members of the Philadelphia Eagles fanbase and Philly’s media have been mentioning for a while now.

For the majority of NFL fans, Philadelphia Eagles fans included, October 29th is a day that’s been circled on their calendar for quite some time. Why? It’s simple. That marks professional football’s trade deadline, and at 4 PM EST, teams won’t be able to swap players or draft picks for the rest of the NFL season.

When your team’s vice president and general manager is Howie Roseman, it just feels like a major move can happen at any time. He’s been good at stocking Philly’s cupboard and juggling the numbers on that annoying salary cap, but in 2019, he’s been relatively quiet, and for the first time in a long time, fans are nervous. Will October 29th come and go without the Eagles adding a difference-maker to their roster?

Any day that’s synonymous with an opportunity for a football fan’s team to get better has become a major event. The NFL’s trade deadline hasn’t reached the same level of excitement in the minds of most football fans as maybe the free agency period or the draft, normally because most teams are quiet, but if you feel like your team may make a move, debates rage and fans get charged up.

That brings us all back to the Eagles. If everyone’s learned one thing by now, it’s this. The Eagles aren’t going to win a Super Bowl with the roster being constructed as it is currently. This team has to get better, and they have to get better now. Everyone guesses what direction teams may go in, and recently, Around The NFL Writer Jeremy Bergman shared his theories on a move each team could make.

He has Philly looking at the Denver Broncos roster for some assistance in the form of cornerback Chris Harris Jr.

"How does Howie Roseman attack this trade deadline? With an air-tight but underperforming and injury-prone roster, the Eagles don’t need much to sneak into the postseason except minor improvements and more consistent play on the outside. Enter the Broncos, who’ve made it known that Harris, a 30-something cornerback in the last year of his renegotiated deal, is available and garnering interest. A swash-buckling Roseman should take a Philadelphia flier on Harris, but the Eagles GM might have to give up a young cornerback in the process."

According to Bergman, the cost would potentially be Ronald Darby and a 2020 conditional fifth-round draft pick. If you ask most Eagles fans, they’d probably take that in a second. Keep an eye on this one Eagles fans. Harris’ name keeps coming up a lot, but then again, so does every other NFL star who’s rumored to be looking for a new home.
