Miles Sanders, RB

Round 2, Pick 53

The former Penn State running back was an interesting pick. Considering the Eagles have avoided drafting a running back early on for so many years, it was shocking to see them actually go through with grabbing one in the second round this offseason.

Knowing Miles Sanders was drafted so high, it comes as no surprise the Eagles are doing all they can to try and use him. Sometimes, Sanders looks really good. Other times, we wonder why the Eagles spent such a high pick on him. Regardless of how you feel, there’s no denying that Sanders has been producing in multiple areas for the team.

Not only is Sanders a rotational running back — but he’s also the team’s most productive deep threat right now, in addition to being the kick returner. In total, Sanders has 568 total scrimmage yards on offense with two touchdowns. Not bad for a rookie, who has to share snaps. Sure, Sanders has his struggles, but he’s been an essential piece to the Eagles’ offense this season.
