Philadelphia Eagles: 5 Players that are key to a victory over the Bears

3. Fletcher Cox, DT

Before the season started, we discussed the idea of Fletcher Cox potentially getting off to a slow start to the year. After undergoing surgery during the offseason, the Eagles’ top defensive lineman missed pretty much all of the offseason workouts.

After witnessing the slow starts from numerous offseason surgery candidates last year, it was pretty much inevitable that Cox was going to end up dealing with the same issues. Sure enough, Cox got off to an extremely slow start. It also didn’t help that three of his sidekicks at defensive tackle, eventually, all went down with injuries as well.

At this point, though, Cox is getting back to his old ways. Over the last few weeks, we’ve noticed a big difference in his game. And just last week, Cox played arguably his best game of the season as he created tons of pressure against the Bills. This week, the Eagles need the same type of production as the Bears offensive line has been struggling, and so has their quarterback.
