Let’s take a quick look at what’s being said about the fantasy football value of three of the Eagles’ best players on offense, Carson Wentz, Jordan Howard, and Miles Sanders.

As the NFL Fantasy football community continues to explode, finding information on your favorite players’ ECR or expert consensus rankings, a source that combines the over 100 different fantasy writers’ results and averages them into a simple stat, is often easier than finding your favorite wide receivers’ total number of drops or your favorite quarterback’s record against any one team. Heading into 2019, Carson Wentz, Jordan Howard, and Miles Sanders were among some of the more talked about Fantasy prospects.

For the Philadelphia Eagles‘ QB1, a departing Nick Foles, two new skill players who were taken in the most recent draft (the aforementioned Sanders and JJ Arcega-Whiteside), and a returning DeSean Jackson had many believing Wentz’s numbers would explode in year four of his and Doug Pederson‘s era.

Sanders and Howard were the question marks. They were going to have to share the backfield with the likes of the returning Darren Sproles, and whoever Philly decided to keep between Boston Scott, Corey Clement, Wendell Smallwood.

In the end, Philly held onto Clement, but he got hurt and hasn’t made the impact that many had hoped for. Smallwood ended up with the Washington Redskins, and though Sproles is declining and Scott sits on the active roster, the cream of Philly’s backfield crop is clearly Howard and Sanders.

There’s just one more thing. Philly employs a committee approach. That was supposed to limit Sanders and Howard’s touches, but both have produced and are among the few reasons fans of this team and Fantasy owners who have one or both on their rosters are happy with Philly’s offense.

According to Scott Engel of Fantrax HQ, who just released his Fantasy rankings for the rest of 2019, Howard was ranked 26th among available running backs and has an ECR of  30. Sanders, who Engel calls ‘simply dynamic’ with ‘more highlights ahead’, sits behind him at 27 with an ECR of 35.

In addition to that, Robby Gal of numberFire.com sees Sander’s stock as rising. Here’s some of his thought on Philly’s talented rookie.

"Sanders is playing the complementary role while showing he’s capable of making plays when called on. Sanders will likely not get cheaper, and if Howard goes down, he could be a league winner. Despite taking a backseat to Howard, Sanders saw 10 of the 31 running back carries in Week 9, and his three catches and 31 yards both ranked fourth on the team. With the passing game in a state of flux, the rushing attack should continue to serve as fruitful for both Philly backs."

Meanwhile, their signal-caller, who hasn’t thrown more than one touchdown or for more than 250 yards since Week 6, sits at 15 with an ECR of 14. It’s hard to imagine that ’11’ will light the scoreboard up versus the New England Patriots in Week 11. It isn’t totally out of the question, but sitting Wentz versus the Pats may be a wise move if you have him on your Fantasy football roster.
