3. The Eagles must win the turnover battle

It seems pretty simple, but the Eagles have often struggled to do this in 2019. Under Pederson, Philadelphia has had the most success when they succeed in three areas: time of possession, third and fourth down conversions, and winning the turnover battle.

When the Eagles and Patriots played in the regular season in 2015, the Eagles had a record of 4-7 and were seven-point underdogs in Foxborough. They were dismal on offense with players that didn’t fit the system after Chip Kelly made some questionable roster decisions. DeMarco Murray comes to mind,

He had been a north-and-south type of runner but was brought into a spread offense that primarily relied on east-and-west running plays that were run out of the shotgun.

Although the Eagles struggled on offense that entire season and only finished with a record of 7-9, they exited Foxborough with a victory. Sam Bradford only threw for 120 yards and the offense only put up 248 total yards compared to the Patriots’ 427, yet the Eagles won the turnover battle with two interceptions including a 99-yard pick-six from Malcolm Jenkins that ended up being the turning point in the game.
