The MVP version of Carson Wentz isn’t in the house, so who is?

Here’s a serious question if someone can answer it. Carson Wentz obviously isn’t in the shape that he was when he finished third in MVP voting despite suffering the ACL and MCL injury in 2017. The Week 11 loss to the Pats sparked a lot of nasty comments toward Wentz, but this loss wasn’t entirely his fault. Wentz went 20-of-40 for 214 yards and he tossed a touchdown. During the game, NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Reuben Frank realized the pressure the quarterback was under.

Wentz averaged 5.4 yards per attempt and struggled to make accurate throws, but the entire offense earned an ‘F’ for their performance. Looking at the results, Wentz performed as well as he could with the options that he had available to him according to The Ringer,

"Wentz was asked to be a superhero—and he very nearly was. His 21-yard completion to Ertz to set up a Hail Mary attempt required a laser-beam throw in traffic, and if Agholor managed to come down with that end-zone heave, the conversation about Wentz’s outing would be very different."

In 50 career games, Carson Wentz has been in a crucial hot-seat, winner-take-all moment 15 times. Philly’s pulled things out of the hat twice. Something needs to change if Wentz is going to put on the cape in times of trouble. The season is on the line with the Dallas Cowboys currently sitting in first place in the division.
