The Philadelphia Eagles continue to deal with injuries this season, and it looks like they will be without some key offensive players once again.

For the last couple of years, the Philadelphia Eagles have had some tough luck when it comes to player injuries. Fortunately, in 2017, they were able to overcome all of that and utilize the ‘next man up’ mentality as they fought their way to a Super Bowl victory.

In 2018, they dealt with the same issues, but the team wasn’t nearly as good as they were during the previous season. While the 2018 Eagles got hot for a moment and looked like they could be on a run, they eventually fell short and went packing early in the playoffs.

Once again, here we are more than midway through the 2019 season and the Eagles can’t avoid the injury bug. At this point, we’re all used to it but surely not happy about it.

Although the Eagles look like a middle of the road team, they never truly found their identity yet this season as injuries never gave them a chance to. And by the looks of it — they probably won’t find it this week against the Seahawks either as the offense will once again be short-staffed.

Who’s out for the Eagles?

Throughout this week, the Eagles had multiple starters listed as injured, missing practice. While Doug Pederson was hopeful that a few of those guys can get the green light to go on Sunday, it looks like those situations all seem unlikely at this point.

On Friday, the Eagles officially ruled out right tackle, Lane Johnson, who hasn’t been cleared by the NFL’s concussion protocol just yet. Then early on Sunday morning, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that both, Jordan Howard and Nelson Agholor are ‘unlikely’ to play.

As Howard has been dealing with a shoulder stinger, the veteran running back hasn’t been given a chance to return to the field with contact. As for Agholor, he banged his knee up in last week’s game and hasn’t been a full participant at practice either. So at this point, it looks like JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and Jay Ajayi are two players who will get a significant amount of snaps this week for the Eagles. It will be interesting to see how this goes.
