Following a tough loss in Week 12, Carson Wentz and Brandon Brooks both had some encouraging words for Philadelphia Eagles fans.

The sun finally came out for most of the East Coast, but it still feels like there’s a dark cloud over the Philadelphia Eagles after they lost their second-straight game at home. This one came at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks. Right guard Brandon Brooks left the game early with what we were told was an ‘illness’. Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz was present for all four quarters but appeared to leave the lineup mentally after overthrowing Miles Sanders by five yards when Sanders was standing a few feet from him.

It’s one thing to lose. It’s another to lose in that style that Philly did.

We later learned that Brooks ‘illness’ was another issue relating to the anxiety issues that he’s had in the past. It was a quick reminder that there’s more to life than football, and naturally, everyone hopes that Brooks will be okay sooner than later.

As for what that meant on the football field, Philly did some shuffling with their offensive line as they experimented with Halapoulivaati Vaitai at right guard before replacing him with Matt Pryor and kicking ‘Big V’ out to right tackle in place of Andre Dillard who was struggling with that role.

As mentioned, much was done to solve the riddle about what to do about filling the void Brooks left, and all we learned was this. Pryor and ‘Big V’ aren’t Brooks. Early on Monday, Brooks and QB1 tweeted a couple of messages that should encourage fans slightly.

Take a look:

Let’s clear one thing up for you Mr. Brooks. No one is disappointed in you at all. For many of us, you’re a hero.

Next. What should be done with Wentz?. dark

As fans, we’re all frustrated, but let’s not act like we’re more upset than the players on this team are. As human beings, your heart goes out to both guys. The Philadelphia Eagles have the best fans in sports, and they’ll continue to hope for the best. Even still, Week 12 was brutal. Seeing a better-prepared Wentz and a healthy Brooks on the field will go a long way in making everyone feel better.
