Philadelphia Eagles: Thanksgiving tweets, Dallas, and good news
Things turned out pretty well for Philadelphia Eagles fans during the Thanksgiving holiday. Here’s one last look at an amazing day for the team and their fans.
Who would have thought that a team could win and win big without even throwing on their shoulder pads and stepping on the field for a game? Thanksgiving is about food, good times, and family, but for Philadelphia Eagles fans, the celebration came as they locked up both their long snapper and kicker with extensions.
As you know, Rick Lovato‘s extension came about ten days ago. Jake Elliott put pen to paper on the eve of Thanksgiving.
Take a look.
While extending two guys from the special teams unit may not always be exciting, it is important. There’s no end to the value that these guys bring. Just ask the Chicago Bears.
Then, there was a Thanksgiving Day that no Eagles fan will ever forget. ‘Birds’ players, fans, and the cheerleading squad hung out with family and jumped on social media every now and again to joke around and even wish others some family holiday ‘cheer’ (pun intended). Check out ABC-6 in Philadelphia’s feature on least-favorite Thanksgiving dishes and some of the highlights from Twitter.
As great as that is, it got even better. Eagles everywhere were treated to more good news shortly before it was time to annihilate some macaroni and cheese, turkey, ham, dressing, and whatever else they could sink their teeth into. The news came that Carson Wentz and his lovely wife, Madison, are expecting.
Top all of that off with a loss by the Dallas Cowboys at the hands of the Buffalo Bills. Any loss by Dallas is a reason to celebrate for Eagles fans. A loss that narrows the gap between the Eagles and Cowboys, who are both in the hunt for the playoffs, could make Philly fans feel like Thanksgiving and Christmas came on the same day.
Things are a long way from being over. The Eagles need to handle their own business, but the door is, indeed open. Thanks to a great Thanksgiving, the Eagles and their fans just got a shot in the arm.
