Philadelphia Eagles versus Miami Dolphins: 5 Bold predictions
Everyone has their theory on how the Philadelphia Eagles’ Week 13 contest with the Miami Dolphins will go, and it’s no different this way. Here are five bold predictions.
We wouldn’t be fans if we didn’t have a guess on every game’s outcome or final score. That’s part of the fun of it. Every week, we all do the same thing. Everyone guesses whether or not the Philadelphia Eagles will win. Then, we imagine the scenarios that will allow for a said win.
The game’s been broken down in every way that’s imaginable. It will be here before you know it. Here are five bold predictions for Week 13 versus the Miami Dolphins.
1. Eagles will hold the Dolphins scoreless in the final two quarters.
As every Eagles fan knows, Ryan Fitzpatrick carved the Eagles up at the beginning of the 2018 regular season as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Philly took an ‘L’ with Nick Foles at the helm. In this one, Fitzpatrick will provide a similar scare. He’ll put up some fireworks, but it won’t lead to very many points as Philly will shut them down when it matters and shut Miami out in the second half.
2. Carson Wentz’s second half will silence the doubters, for a week anyway.
Let’s call it now. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson will abandon the run as he always does. That may not be a bold prediction, but this is. This time it won’t matter much as he’ll rack up a near-perfect quarterback rating and three touchdown passes. Jake Elliott will tack on two more scores with his leg from long distance.
3. Miles Sanders will finish second to Zach Ertz in receptions, and he Ertz, and Jay Ajayi will catch those touchdown passes from Wentz.
Just because Philly won’t score a touchdown on the ground, that doesn’t mean the running backs won’t contribute. Actually, they’ll prove to be very valuable as Miles Sanders and Jay Ajayi will combine for 250 total yards and both will reach the end zone, courtesy of a touchdown toss from Wentz. Wentz’s other touchdown pass will go to the always reliable Zach Ertz.
4. The wide receivers combine for less than ten catches.
Don’t expect the criticism of the Eagles’ wide receivers to decrease after this one. Actually, it will be the opposite as Greg Ward, Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, and JJ Arcega-Whiteside will combine for ten catches or less, but here’s where it gets tricky. Arcega-Whiteside will be the best of the bunch with four catches.
5. Five sacks for the Eagles defense.
No turnovers in this one (sorry guys), but the Eagles defense will continue to hold serve and help the cause by bringing down Fitzpatrick five times and hurrying him on another four or five occasions.
