3 Reasons for Philadelphia Eagles fans to remain positive
Hope is fading for Philadelphia Eagles fans. There’s a glimmer though, and that may be all that this team needs down the stretch.
Okay, you saw the game, and the sting from a said game will resonate for a while. The excitement that was born in two Dallas Cowboys losses in five days has been replaced by agony, and a golden opportunity that the Philadelphia Eagles had to decrease the gap between themselves and their rivals from Texas went up in flames thanks to a 37-31 loss at the hands of the Miami Dolphins.
You have no idea how hard it was to find the silver lining, but here are three reasons to remain positive.
1. Keep in mind the fact that this team is getting healthy.
Cre’Von LeBlanc is back, and for the most part, he played well in his return to action. So did Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor. Hopefully, next week, Philly will get Jordan Howard back into the offensive fold as well. This team is going to need all hands on deck if they’re going to make some noise down the stretch run.
Unfortunately, that now feels like it’s a big ‘if’.
2. Carson Wentz found some rhythm in Week 13.
Those of you who wanted Carson Wentz to show some mettle got your wish in Week 13. QB1 threw for 310 yards and three touchdowns, with his lone interception coming on a failed ‘Hail Mary’ at the end of the game. He played as well as you can expect despite the circumstances, and you can’t blame him for this one. Now, his team needs to rally around him.
3. Nothing’s changed in the NFC East.
Though this loss seems devastating, it really isn’t. As mentioned the Cowboys lost two games in five days. Philly didn’t lose any ground in the quest for a division title. Unfortunately, they didn’t capitalize on an opportunity to make up any ground either. There’s no more room for error. As has been stated for a while, the division title may come down to a Week 16 game.
Over the past month, we’ve seen the defensive unit play well at times. This past week, we saw the offensive unit play well. Now, everyone just needs to see cohesion between these two units and extrapolate this over four quarters.
