Does anyone remember Charles Dickens’ novella ‘A Christmas Carol’? With the holiday approaching for Philadelphia Eagles fans, it seems to apply.

With Christmas on the horizon, it seems appropriate to borrow a page from a classic Christmas novel. Increasingly so, as we must look at the past, present, and future to accurately diagnose the ongoing problems with the Philadelphia Eagles. Not only will we take a trip down memory lane en route to hopping in a time machine, but we’ll also come to understand how the roster came to be and what it could be.

Today’s Eagles are a by-product of the ripples displaced by historical events, even those we have repressed far into our minds. They have been shaped by great successes and failures of equal magnitude. They’ve been molded by the players, some long forgotten, and will continue to be.

Enough with the build-up, is anyone in the mood for a little Charles Dickens?
