The Philadelphia Eagles better hope Jordan Howard’s shoulder injury doesn’t turn into a similar situation like DeSean Jackson.

As if the Philadelphia Eagles weren’t already frustrated enough in the injury department after seeing how things played out with DeSean Jackson, it looks like Jordan Howard‘s shoulder continuing to be a problem is the latest concern.

Back in Week 9, Howard suffered a shoulder injury against his former team in the Chicago Bears, and while this seemed only minor at first, this clearly has been far from the case since the running back hasn’t played since.

Every week since that win over the Bears, Howard has seen his name on the injury report, and while there always seems to be some sort of small hope he will finally suit up to help the Eagles in the ground game, the running back always gets ruled out.

After missing yet another game last weekend against the Miami Dolphins, there was some hope once again that Howard would find a way to be healthy enough to play on Monday, that is until Thursday morning when it was discovered he still hasn’t been cleared for contact.

Not only is the fact that Howard hasn’t been cleared for contact concerning, but now some Eagles fans are beginning to worry about the possibility of this turning into a season-ending injury.

Just because Doug Pederson claims to believe Howard’s injury isn’t season ending at the moment doesn’t mean this will turn out to be the case since all Eagles fans need to do is look at how the situation with Jackson turned out.

Fans were beyond excited back in Week 9 when Jackson returned against the Bears after dealing with an abdominal injury since the middle of September, only to eventually watch him leave the game before he was placed on injured reserve a few days later.

Howard’s situation is completely different than Jackson’s, but Philadelphia is probably being extra cautious with their beloved running back to make sure it doesn’t come to the point where his injury becomes season ending.

The Eagles have already been at a disadvantage when it comes to wide receiver due to Jackson’s injury, and if the same were to happen to Howard after hearing this latest news, it’s only going to make Philadelphia’s playoff chances that much more difficult to pull off.
