Former head coach of the Carolina Panthers

Ron Rivera is a former Eagles linebacker coach who, most recently, served as the head coach of the Carolina Panthers. We won’t be unemployed long, nor should he be.

It’s doubtful that he’ll wind up as the Cowboys’ coach though for two reasons. One, take a second and just think about everything you just read about Jones wanting to land that ‘sexy’ hire (more on that in a few).

Second, Jones is about to learn that it’s going to be hard to find another spineless coach that’s going to be able to deliver him quality wins and possibly another Lombardi Trophy. As smart as the guy is, you’d think that would sink in.

Rivera’s never going to be thrown into the category of spineless. Then, there’s another thought to ponder.

After everything that Rivera just went through with the diva quarterback and with David Tepper, a Jerry Jones in the making (you just wait and see), his natural fit might be with his former GM, David Gettleman and the New York Giants, where the quarterback isn’t a hype train and the owners are a little more subdued.
