Zach Ertz, tight end (Week 14 MVP)

More from Inside the Iggles

Has anyone else noticed that Zach Ertz might be the only guy on this team that no one’s angry with? Why? It’s simple.

Sure, he dropped a catch that would have set up first and goal versus the Miami Dolphins. Sure, he’s human. There can occasionally be obvious chinks in the armor, but Zach Ertz shows up to play and gives one-hundred percent in every game. Nelson Agholor doesn’t do that.

Ertz is an Eagle through and through and has everyone’s back on this team. We’re not sure if that’s true about Alshon Jeffery.

Ertz is one of the best at his position and is Wentz’s best option in the passing game, and that’s a true statement game in and game out.

Ertz hauled in nine receptions for 91 yards and two touchdowns versus the Giants. One touchdown helped even the score. The other won the game in overtime. Wentz was amazing, but in Week 14, Wentz was Scottie Pippen. Zach Ertz was Michael Jordan, and ‘Jordan’ gets the team MVP vote for this game. Well done, Mr. Ertz. Well done.

Honorable Mention:

Sidney Jones: After being on the bench for weeks, a guy most of us have given up on stepped right in when needed and made a huge play.

Jalen Mills: We didn’t say his name all night and he made a key pass breakup in the back of the end zone that was key.
