5 reasons Eagles should be on upset alert Week 15 against Redskins

3. Wide receiver situation is a mess for Eagles
Just when it seemed like the wide receiver situation couldn’t get anymore troubling for the Eagles, the team received the unfortunate news this week that Alshon Jeffery would miss the remainder of the year due to a foot injury.
When taking into consideration that Philadelphia was already forced to adjust to losing DeSean Jackson for most of this year along with Nelson Agholor‘s knee recently becoming a problem, this latest injury to Jeffery is just the icing on the cake of the frustrations surrounding the position.
No one needs to explain just how much of a difference maker Jeffery’s presence makes for the Eagles on offense, and his performance in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins (nine catches for 137 yards with a touchdown) is the perfect example to support the case.
Carson Wentz will have plenty of reasons to feel confident in being able to rely on Zach Ertz during this final stretch. But with Philadelphia’s top two receivers at the moment being JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Greg Ward, this shows the concerns at wide receiver heading into Sunday’s meeting in Washington.
Wentz and the Eagles will hopefully find a way to get by with this current group of receivers to put them in great position to win the NFC East, but the Redskins certainly aren’t going to make it easy for them on Sunday.
