3. Michael Bennett, defensive end, currently with the Dallas Cowboys

Only the Good Lord in Heaven and the Eagles know what they were thinking here. Michael Bennett led the Eagles with nine sacks in 2018. Then, they decided to trade him to the New England Patriots on March 14th of 2019.

Philly gave up Bennett and a seventh-round selection in the 2020 NFL draft in exchange for a fifth-round 2020 draft selection. That move was the wrong one for so many reasons and on so many levels.

One, does anyone feel confident that Philly will find a player with Bennett’s ability with that fifth-round selection? Second, how many of you are confident that the Eagles will even find someone who will make the team? Third, and this is a big one, they decided to move on from Chris Long as well. The theory was Derek Barnett was ready to take the mantle, but he clearly isn’t. What are they looking at on film and in practice?
