More from Inside the Iggles

A lot of Eagles fans can’t stand this guy, but to be honest, Wendell Smallwood really wasn’t that bad of a running back. There’s no evidence that he isn’t just as good as Boston Scott is.

Let’s all revisit what was said earlier. Philly walked into the 2019 season with Darren Sproles (on IR and possibly retiring), Corey Clement (also on IR), Miles Sanders (that one’s cool), and Jordan Howard, who we were concerned might get injured and hasn’t been on the field since suffering a stinger in Week 9 versus the Bears,

We’re approaching Week 15’s game versus the Washington Redskins, Smallwood’s new team. Howard still hasn’t been cleared for contact. Meanwhile, in three seasons, Smallwood appeared in 37 games with 12 starts. He racked up 850 yards on 211 carries. He averaged four yards per carry and added an additional 388 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the air.

He reached the first down marker 53 times as a rusher and 18 times in the receiving game. He never caused any issues and never bashed any of his teammates. He definitely never made any anonymous comments or was accused of giving half an effort. Why do you guys hate this guy again?
