3. Matthew Ioannidis

For player that was selected in the fifth round of the draft back in 2016, Matthew Ioannidis has turned out to be quite the steal for the Redskins, and the team certainly made the right call signing the key defender to a new three-year deal last spring.

After limited action as a rookie, Ioannidis really started to come around during his second NFL season by starting 10 of 14 games, and Washington has benefitted in a big way watching him get better with experience ever since.

Through 13 games in 2019, the Redskins have already seen Ioannidis set a new career high in sacks (8.5), and Washington would love to see his streak of recording at least one sack extend to four games when taking on the Eagles.

Philadelphia’s offensive line has received plenty of praise for the protection they provide Carson Wentz, but Ioannidis could be a challenge with the way he’s been playing on a high level all season.

Clearly, the decision by the Redskins to reward Ioannidis with a new deal last spring has already paid off in a big way, and chances are he’s going to continue being a problem for the Eagles over the next couple of years.
