It almost sounds ridiculous to say it, but could DeSean Jackson actually return to the playing field this season? It’s a longshot and probably not worth the risk, but it could happen.

News of DeSean Jackson‘s season-ending surgery was met with a myriad of emotions, particularly from the Philadelphia Eagles fan base. There were comments expressing disappointment, outrage, and namecalling. Some even went to call him selfish when in actuality the opposite was true.

Jackson put his medical needs and the needs of his own body on the back burner as he attempted to work his way back onto the playing field with his teammates. As you all know, it didn’t work out that way. It was revealed he’d need surgery and, in a flash, his grand return to the Eagles hit the pause button.

Ladies and gentlemen, those are not the actions of a selfish man. Jackson’s surgery was a success, and since then, he’s made sure that he’s checked in every now and then on social media to inform us of how he’s progressing. Here are some of the highlights.

Call it crazy, but ’10’ could actually work his way back onto the playing field this season. Now, it’s a longshot, and to be honest, it may not be worth the risk, but it is a possibility.

If he can work his way back into playing shape, he could be available in the playoffs. If the Eagles win the NFC East, they could possibly host the San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the NFC Playoffs. Jackson would have to sit out of the WIldcard Round, but if Philly was to advance ( a tall order), they could activate Jackson down the road.

Again, it’s a longshot, and it may not be worth the risk (it’s also doubtful), but it isn’t impossible. Would bringing Jackson back be wise? You tell us. The debate table and rumor mill are both wide open for this one.
