It’s Cowboys Week for the Philadelphia Eagles, and this week the stakes are tremendous. Here are three concerning stats if you’re on the ‘Birds’ side.

Sure, the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys have met before with the NFC East on the line, but this time it’s a little different. The ‘Birds’ have a coach, Doug Pederson, that has led them to the Super Bowl and won it, and they have a quarterback, Carson Wentz, that could potentially be better than anyone quarterback they’ve ever had. They’re also playing at home.

That’s where it gets interesting. Despite all of that, they’re underdogs in a game that may decide the NFC East’s champion. The Eagles are on a two-game winning streak, but after Dallas’ demolition of the Los Angeles Rams and what everyone has seen the last four times these teams have played, there’s an uneasiness about Philly’s chances.

Here’s a quick preview from the NFL, courtesy of their YouTube Channel. Make sure, you’re sitting down. This one contains three alarming stats, one from each of Dallas’ stars on defense.

Yep, you heard all of that correctly, but let’s recap. Dallas’ last victory was the most lopsided game in this series that has gone in the Cowboys’ favor in over 20 years. Then, there were those other reminders.

1. Ezekiel Elliott is averaging just under 115 rush yards per game, the most of any running back that has played against Philly over the course of the last 53 seasons.

2. Amari Cooper‘s averaging a little over 132 yards per game versus the ‘Birds’ over the course of 2018 and 2019, and that’s the most of any player versus any team during that span.

3. Dak Prescott is completing over 46 percent of his passes on throws that are over 20 yards from the line of scrimmage. Not good if you’re an Eagles fan.

All hope isn’t lost in this one though. The name of the game is ball control. Lane Johnson and Jordan Matthews aren’t any closer to playing than they were a week ago if we just rely on what we saw from Philly’s most recent practice. Take a look.

This one feels like it will be a tight one, but it’s the Cowboys and the Eagles, and they’re playing for the NFC East’s crown. Why would it unfold any other way?
