Philadelphia Eagles Rival Report: Jason Garrett weighs in on Dak Prescott
Who better to tell us what Dak Prescott’s been dealing with injury-wise and what his status is for the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys game than Jason Garrett?
Much has been made about the news of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott‘s injury, its severity, and what his status will be for Week 16 versus the Philadelphia Eagles. Let’s all go ahead and state something definitively. Prescott’s going to play.
This week, Prescott appeared on the Cowboys injury report as he was ‘limited’ in practice for the first time in his career, and the world went bananas. Naturally, the first question that follows any news is whether or not that person will play.
This is the Cowboys and Eagles rivalry. It’s Week 16, and a possible division title is on the line. If you think Prescott isn’t showing up, whether he has a bum shoulder or not, you’re crazy, and if the question about his availability did creep up in your mind, even if it was for a second, you should have moved on from that theory entirely.
Earlier this week, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett spoke with the Philly media via phone to discuss this and a few other subjects. Here’s some of what he had to say.
"Yeah, he just wsn’t able to practice today. He hurt his shoulder in the game the other day and was just not able to function today, so we’ll just take his situation day by day and see how he’s able to improve over the course of the week and hopefully, (he’ll) get himself ready for the ball game… I know he hurt his arm in the game the other day and was able to function for three quarters after he got hit on it. It was sore the past coup,e of days and he wasn’t able to practice today."
Oh yeah. He’s playing.
It’s Week 16 of the NFL season ladies and gentlemen. Everybody is injured. At this point, the marathon shifts from a physical one to one that’s more about mental toughness and endurance.
Prescott and Carson Wentz will both play. It’s without question the most important game that both have played against one another in their young careers. More will follow, but in the case of this one, there isn’t an Eagles or Cowboys fan on the planet that won’t be glued to a television for this one.
