Rumors of changes in the Philadelphia Eagles front office are circulating. That’s the subject of this edition of ‘The Roundup’.

The Philadelphia Eagles are rumored to lose a member of their leadership structure for the second-straight year. That’s among the day’s major developments and the subject of this edition of ‘The Roundup’.

Losing key pieces in the Eagles’ organization is nothing new to the franchise. They’ve lost quarterbacks coaches that they tried desperately to hold on to (John DeFilippo) as well as offensive coordinators (Pat Shurmur and Frank Reich). They’ve even lost executives as recent as a season ago (Joe Douglas).

Now, typically, news stories such as this one shouldn’t be written in the first person, and I’ll share that over time I’ve learned the entire ITI staff doesn’t share all of my theories. Still, I for one am glad Douglas is gone. He was brought here to assist in the draft process, but truthfully, each draft he was a part of was filled with more misses (Sidney Jones, Donnel Pumphrey, Mack Hollins, Shelton Gibson, Elijah Qualls) than success stories (Dallas Goedert, Avonte Maddox).

Yes, I’m glad Douglas is gone, but another season is nearing its end, and Philly’s again rumored to lose another executive. The Eagles’ vice president of football operations, Andrew Berry, is becoming a hot topic as it relates to potential general managers.

Here’s a quote from longtime ESPN reporter Jim Trotter.

"We know all the names that have been out there, but let’s choose a name that we may not have heard much about, and that name is Andrew Berry, who’s an executive with the Philadelphia Eagles. Everyone I talk to about Andrew tells me he is sharp, bright, he knows what he is doing, and they believe he it is a matter of ‘when’ not ‘if’ he becomes a general manager, so that is somebody to keep an eye on as we go forward."

National NFL insider Ian Rapoport agrees with that sentiment, stating ‘Yeah, Andrew Berry is certainly a hot, new name’.
