Some recent Josh Norman news reveals that his time with the Washington Redskins is probably over, but let’s not start any rumors of him in a Philadelphia Eagles jersey, okay?

By now, you all know how this goes if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan. A player with a recognizable name finds his way into trade talks or potential free agency, and the talk becomes whether or not Howie Roseman should make a move for him. That’s especially true these days if that player’s on-field position is cornerback or wide receiver.

Let’s not do that in this case okay?

According to multiple reports, including this one from Adam Schefter, cornerback Josh Norman won’t travel with the Washington Redskins as they head to Arlington to play the Dallas Cowboys, which in all likelihood is the final sign that his time in D.C. is over.

Even if it crosses your mind for a second, don’t you dare say that you want him in an Eagles jersey. He’s the football equivalent of a one-hit-wonder. During the early part of his career with the Carolina Panthers, he struggled to beat out Josh Thomas, James Dockery, Chris GambleCaptain Munnerlyn, and Brandon Hogan.

Eventually, he got the start but was average at best. Then, in 2016, with Sean McDermott as his defensive coordinator, Norman looked really good. Fortunately for him, that coincided with a magical Carolina Panthers season that wound up with a number-one seed and a trip to the Super Bowl.

A star was born, especially in a world where people look at highlights and don’t watch actual games.

Next. Eagles should trade up to draft CeeDee Lamb. dark

Most of Norman’s career has been made on loud talk, swagger, and to his credit, a few highlight-reel interceptions, but he’s closer to Ronald Darby than Deion Sanders on the cornerback scale. Yes, Philly needs help at corner, but they shouldn’t look for it here.

Send an email or a tweet. Call Howie Roseman, or do whatever you need to do. Just make sure you join the anti-Norman side. Please don’t hurt matters by starting any Norman-to-Philly rumors. That will be all. Thank you.
