Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz deserves to be mentioned among potential MVP candidates. No one cares if you disagree.

Regardless of what happens in the playoffs, we’ve answered a ton of questions about Philadelphia Eagles franchise quarterback Carson Wentz. Does he deserve the money he got this offseason? Absolutely! Is he cool and able to deliver in the clutch? Indeed he is! Can he complete a season and be healthy through its duration? Check!

Is he an MVP-level quarterback? Absolutely!

With everything on the line for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17 of the 2019 NFL regular-season, Philly had to win to get into the postseason, and they made it happen. Along the way, ’11’ lost his running back, Miles Sanders, and his starting Pro-Bowl right guard, Brandon Brooks, but that doesn’t tell the best part of this season’s story.

Carson Wentz dealt with more than one man should in 2019. His leadership has been questioned. He’s been called out both publicly and anonymously. He spent just about the entire season without his best weapons, Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson for instance.

His tight end, Zach Ertz, wasn’t available for Week 17. His All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson was out. Wentz bounced back over and over again, and in Week 17, If the Eagles were going to win the NFC East, it was going to be ‘Carson and the Kids’.

Well, ’11’ and the young guys got it done. After going 23 for 40, racking up 289 passing yards and a touchdown, the ‘Birds’ took the NFC East, and along the way, Wentz made a little history. He’s now thrown a touchdown in all 16 regular-season games. No other quarterback that has ever played for the Eagles can say that.

In the fourth quarter and overtime of the last four games, ’11’ completed 81 percent of his passes. He threw for 352 yards and four touchdown passes. That’s tops in the NFL in each category. In Week 17, he eclipsed 4,000 yards passing. No other Eagles quarterback can say that. He also set a franchise record for completions. All that despite the fact that the Eagles don’t have a single receiver that has racked up more than 500 yards receiving.
