Best player reactions following Philadelphia Eagles divisional title win
The Philadelphia Eagles win the NFC East. They did it against all odds, and here are some of the best player reactions to help you celebrate.
You can have great coaches and great schemes, but to win in the NFL, you have to have great players as well. The Philadelphia Eagles walked into the 2019 season with a roster that was called the best on-paper roster in all of professional football. Then, in typical Eagles fashion, guys started dropping like flies.
The roster was juggled. New guys were signed. Players were promoted from the practice squad, but when it all came down to it, it would take every single one of their 16 regular-season games to make the playoffs.
While that part of the story doesn’t necessarily qualify as unbelievable, at the beginning of the season, everyone thought it would be DeSean Jackson, Jordan Howard, Alshon Jeffery and Zach Ertz on the field in Week 17 to help Carson Wentz pull things out.
Instead, it was Boston Scott who scored three touchdowns. It was Joshua Perkins who hauled in the only touchdown pass in Week 17 that Wentz would throw. It was guys like Deontay Burnett and Greg Ward who made huge catches to move the sticks, and how about Isaac Seumalo?
That guy’s been tremendous down the stretch. Philly’s back in the postseason guys and gals. Here are the best player reactions following the Philadelphia Eagles huge NFC East-clinching, Week 17 victory.
To quote the ‘Birds’ themselves, ‘the East is not enough’. It will be later in the week when we know what the status of guys like Zach Ertz and Brandon Brooks are, but for now, we can take a day and think about what this team has done.
If you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, Doug Pederson, Carson Wentz, and company gave us all a great Christmas with a huge win over the Dallas Cowboys. Then, by beating the New York Giants, they won the NFC East. It looks like this will be a happy new year as well.
