For the second time in December, the Philadelphia Eagles benefitted from Boston Scott torching the New York Giants.

With Miles Sanders leaving Sunday’s game with an injury, the Philadelphia Eagles found themselves in another position where they needed players to step up on offense to help take down the New York Giants, and secure the NFC East title.

Luckily for the Eagles, Boston Scott found a way to come up big on offense when the team needed it the most, and as a result helped Philadelphia punch their ticket to the postseason.

Over the last month or so, the Eagles have watched Sanders elevate his game to new levels, but also Scott’s presence has helped take a ton of pressure off Carson Wentz as well.

Prior to Sunday, Scott’s best game during his short career in Philadelphia happened to come on that Monday night in Week 14 when he finished with 128 yards from scrimmage to go along with a trip into the end zone.

But in Week 17 with a NFC East title on the line, Scott too advantage of the extra action on offense when Sanders was on the sidelines.

Scott not only set a new career high of 138 yards from scrimmage, but the second-year running back also found the end zone three times, all of which came in the second half.

Once again, Scott continues to show that he can be a valuable member of Philadelphia’s offense, and even if the argument can be made this performance came against a weaker defense in the Giants, these numbers are still beyond impressive.

After Sunday’s performance, Scott has now combined for 264 yards from scrimmage in two games against the Giants this season to go along with four touchdowns, showing just how much of a nightmare he can to Philadelphia’s rivals.

The Giants have already been at a major disadvantage over the years with the Eagles now winning each of the last seven games in the rivalry, and even though Scott has only been part of the rivalry for two contests, Philadelphia could benefit from continuing to use him moving forward.

Minus Sanders, the Eagles were unsure over what the running back position would look like in 2020.

However, now that Scott has proven to be a valuable member of the offense during this playoff run, the running back will hopefully continue to be a headache against opponents for years to come, including the Giants twice a year.
