The Philadelphia Eagles will have their hands full on Sunday during Wild Card Weekend with a tough matchup against Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks.

After ending the 2019 regular season on a hot note by winning four games in a row to secure the NFC East title, the Philadelphia Eagles will now prepare for a tough matchup on Wild Card Weekend against Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks.

Despite being in position to win the NFC West title Sunday night, the Seahawks came up just shy in their battle with the San Francisco 49ers to settle for one of the Wild Card spots instead.

No one needs to explain just how much frustration Seattle is most likely dealing with at the moment since this was a team that sat in the top overall seed a few weeks ago in the NFC playoff picture.

But also, as the Seahawks have proven on numerous occasions, all they need is the opportunity to be in the playoffs, and the rest will take care of itself.

Along with being in control of their own playoff destiny for the No. 1 seed at one point, Seattle also saw Wilson find his name in the conversation for the MVP award as well when seeing how effective the Seahawks quarterback was running the offense.

Even if Lamar Jackson basically has the award locked up after helping the Baltimore Ravens become the top team to beat in the NFL over the last few months, it’s no secret the playoffs are one of Wilson’s favorite times of the year.

In fact, the 2017 season marked the only time in the quarterback’s career in which the Seahawks failed to earn a trip to the playoffs, showing just how great Wilson has been for Seattle since joining the team in 2012.

Forget about the fact that Seattle has lost three of their last four games, and will have to travel across the country to face Philadelphia since Wilson’s presence alone on Sunday will make this an extremely difficult contest for the Eagles.

Not to mention, when taking into consideration that Wilson has never lost to the current NFC East champions, this puts even more pressure on Philadelphia heading into the weekend.

The seven touchdown passes in four games may not seem like the biggest deal in the world to Eagles fans, but the 4-0 career record certainly hurts.

Looking back at the regular season meeting between these two teams when Philadelphia limited Wilson and the Seahawks to scoring just 17 points, it’s tough not to imagine how different the outcome would have been if the offense found a way to score more than just nine points.

With the circumstances being much different this time around with a potential trip to the Divisional Round on the line, the Eagles will most likely be able to top that previous scoring mark against the Seahawks with ease.

As for Wilson, and whether the defense will be able to keep the Seattle star in check, well the verdict is still out there since his previous success against the Eagles arguably provides an early advantage.
