4 reasons Eagles can upset Seahawks during Wild Card Weekend
By Dan Parzych
1. Philadelphia held Seattle to 17 points during first meeting
With all of the issues the offense has been dealing with in the injury department, Philadelphia’s defense has stepped up in a big this season to help the Eagles secure a playoff spot, and will need to come through once again when facing the Seahawks.
Normally, Russell Wilson is always one of the league’s toughest quarterbacks to keep in check since the Seahawks quarterback has a history of making big plays out of nowhere.
Despite Seattle losing three of their last four games, the Eagles know that Wilson could easily turn things around when the Seahawks need him the most for the playoffs.
At least for Philadelphia, the defense already made a statement during the regular season meeting between these two teams they are capable of keeping Wilson and the rest of Seattle’s offense in check after holding them to scoring just 17 points.
Maybe this time around, the Eagles can play just as well on defense, if not better, and receive more support on offense to help Philadelphia pull off the win to advance to the Divisional Round.
This will obviously be easier said than done for the Eagles, but just knowing the defense has already accomplished this before should provide some much needed extra confidence.
