For whatever reason, Jordan Howard only saw one offensive snap for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17 against the New York Giants.

After previously missing the last six games, the Philadelphia Eagles were beyond excited to see Jordan Howard return to action in the team’s Week 17 win over the New York Giants to help take some of the pressure off Miles Sanders in the backfield.

Back in November when Howard suffered the shoulder injury against his former team in the Chicago Bears, the running back seemed like he would only miss a game or two since the Eagles were listing him as day-to-day.

But when seeing how Howard would go on to miss six games, it’s pretty clear the injury was a lot more serious than originally expected.

With that being said, Philadelphia knew the last thing they could afford to do was overwork Howard during his first game back against the Giants, but the last thing anyone expected to see was the running back be on the field for only one offensive snap.

To top it off, Howard didn’t even receive a carry during his only play on the field, and the Eagles were forced to adjust on offense after Sanders left with an injury, leaving plenty of fans wondering what exactly was going on.

Due to these circumstances, it would seem like a no brainer for Howard to see a heavier workload on offense than just one play since Philadelphia was fighting for their playoff lives with the NFC East title on the line.

And with a tough matchup against the Seattle Seahawks scheduled for Sunday during Wild Card Weekend, the Eagles are going to need all of the extra help possible on offense with all of the injuries that have been taking place this season, including the recent one surrounding Sanders.

Is Howard’s shoulder still a concern, and he really should have missed a seventh game instead of suiting up against the Giants? Better yet, can the Eagles rely on Howard to play a significant role against the Seahawks if needed?

Unfortunately, the Howard situation remains a mystery in the days leading up to Sunday since no one really knows what to expect, and even if Boston Scott‘s emergence has been great to witness, Howard’s status is still a concern.
